Two men have been jailed after shooting a man at close range with a shotgun. Nathan Dale, 37, of Prospect Road in Barnet, and Jordan McKenzie-Pryce, 38, of Leverson Street in Norbury, were jailed for a combined total of 26 years following the shooting on August 30, 2022.

The pair were waiting to attack their victim in Crooked Mile, Waltham Abbey – just over the Essex border near Chingford. Dale and McKenzie-Pryce had meticulously planned the attack, attempting to reposition CCTV cameras in the area to evade being spotted in the days before.

McKenzie-Pryce was also seen carrying the shotgun used in the attack on the same camera. At about 10pm on the day of the attack, as the victim parked and stepped out of their car, Dale and McKenzie-Pryce ambushed them and attempted to restrain them.

An altercation followed and they were shot in the arm, leaving them with serious injuries as they managed to escape the defendants. Following a detailed investigation, warrants were executed at the suspects’ home addresses on 14 September 2022.

Both were arrested and the shotgun used in the attack was found in McKenzie-Pryce’s address. Both pleaded not guilty of the attack but were found guilty by a jury on 3 November 2023. McKenzie-Pryce was sentenced to 14 years and Dale was sentenced to 12 years on 18 December 2023. Both will also serve two additional years on licence.

McKenzie-Pryce was also sentenced to two years in prison and ordered to pay £25,200 in compensation for a burglary he previously pleaded guilty to. Detective Inspector Frazer Low said: “We are glad to see both defendants served a custodial sentence for this potentially deadly attack. While the impact of this ordeal will stay with the victim, I hope it provides some comfort knowing that Dale and McKenzie-Pryce will now be off the streets of Essex.”
